TPT Purchase Downloader FAQ & fixes

Yes. Everything runs locally on your Mac. Your TPT credentials aren’t stored or sent to any third-party servers.

How does the app handle my login information?

Section titled “How does the app handle my login information?”

You log in to TPT through a Safari window inside the app, for that session only. The app never saves your login details. See connecting your account for how this works.

Whatever TPT gives you for your purchases: PDFs, PowerPoint files, ZIP archives, and everything else.

No. This app is Mac only. The custom folder icon feature is a Mac-exclusive OS feature. Windows isn’t supported.

TPT School Access login doesn’t work. Why?

Section titled “TPT School Access login doesn’t work. Why?”

TPT Purchase Downloader doesn’t support logging in through TPT School Access (the separate school-issued login). It only works with a regular TPT account login.

It won’t load my purchases, or downloads show a placeholder file

Section titled “It won’t load my purchases, or downloads show a placeholder file”

Restart the app, then click Reload. If that doesn’t fix it, check for an app update. TPT occasionally changes its site, and an outdated version of the app is the most common cause of load failures and placeholder “authorization” files.

To update, uninstall the app and reinstall the latest .dmg (in-app auto-update sometimes doesn’t take effect). See Install TPT Purchase Downloader. If downloads themselves show a placeholder authorization file, this can also happen when too many files download too fast and trigger TPT’s rate limiting. Slow down or retry the download.

I see a “Missing value of type Dictionary<String, Any>” error

Section titled “I see a “Missing value of type Dictionary<String, Any>” error”

This is a temporary connection issue. Click Load Purchases again. The error resets and shouldn’t happen again, and your purchases should load normally.

My macOS version isn’t supported. Is there a workaround?

Section titled “My macOS version isn’t supported. Is there a workaround?”

TPT Purchase Downloader requires macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) or newer. If you’re on an older version, contact support with your macOS version. A special build has been made available for older macOS (like Ventura) on request.

Yes. The license allows use on any Mac you personally own.
