Install Puzzle Maker
Puzzle Maker installs as a PowerPoint add-in file. Follow the steps for your platform, then activate your license.
Windows requires PowerPoint 2010 or newer.
- Download the latest version of Puzzle Maker from your TPT download folder, or from the Puzzle Maker download page.
- Right-click the downloaded
PuzzleMaker.ppamfile, choose Properties, tick Unblock, then click OK. Windows blocks downloaded.ppamfiles by default, so skipping this step causes PowerPoint to refuse the add-in later. - Move
PuzzleMaker.ppaminto your Documents folder (or a subfolder within Documents). - Open PowerPoint.
- Go to File → Options → Add-ins.
- At the bottom of the screen, set Manage to PowerPoint Add-ins, then click Go….
- Click Add New.
- Browse to your Documents folder (or wherever you moved the file) and choose
PuzzleMaker.ppam. - If a warning appears, click Enable Macros and allow the add-in. PowerPoint may prompt about macro protection for a newly added file.
- Confirm you now see an Add-ins tab with a Puzzle Maker section on the ribbon.
Mac requires PowerPoint 2016 or newer.
- Download the latest version of Puzzle Maker from your TPT download folder, or from the Puzzle Maker download page.
- Move
PuzzleMaker.ppaminto your Documents folder (or a subfolder within Documents). - Open PowerPoint.
- Go to Tools → PowerPoint Add-ins…. On Mac this add-ins screen lives under the Tools menu bar, not a ribbon tab, so it’s easy to miss the first time.
- Click the + button.
- Browse to your Documents folder (or wherever you moved the file) and choose
PuzzleMaker.ppam. - If a warning appears, click Enable Macros and allow the add-in.
- Confirm you now see an Add-ins tab with a Puzzle Maker section on the ribbon.
Activate your license
Section titled “Activate your license”- Click the Add-ins tab, then Puzzle Maker → Preferences.
- Enter your name.
- Enter your license number from the purchase email.
- Click OK. Your license is now activated.
If PowerPoint blocks the add-in or shows a security warning
Section titled “If PowerPoint blocks the add-in or shows a security warning”Make sure you unblocked the file (Windows) and installed the latest .ppam. Older, unsigned versions can trigger security warnings. See Puzzle Maker FAQ & fixes for more, or the general add-in blocked guide if the problem isn’t specific to Puzzle Maker.
Updating Puzzle Maker
Section titled “Updating Puzzle Maker”Updating replaces the .ppam file. No uninstall needed. See the general updating guide for the full steps, and remember to unblock the newly downloaded file on Windows before replacing the old one.
